Barn cats: natural rodent control
Got a rodent problem? Traps and poisons can endanger people and pets. Live on a farm, ranch or other rural location? Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC) offers a natural pest control solution: colonies of barn cats. Provide them with food, water and shelter...such as a barn...and they'll do the job.
RASKC provides feral/semi-feral cats free of charge. They place them in small colonies, usually in groups of four. All of the cats have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, ear-tipped for identification, and have been tested for feline diseases. Volunteers are available to help you get the cats settled in to their new environment.
If you have problems with mice or rats, and would like to get some barn cats, email barncatsrus@gmail.com or call Regional Animal Services of King County at 206-296-7387.
