Oregon students wait out Sandy with Shakespeare
PORTLAND, Ore. — A group of Oregon high school students waited out Superstorm Sandy by reading aloud from "A Midsummer Night's Dream."
KPTV-TV reported the eight student members of West Linn High School's mock trial team were stranded in New York along with two coaches and a handful of parent chaperones. They had a weekend competition, and their flight home Monday was canceled.
So, the students finished homework and class assignments in their hotel near the Brooklyn Bridge.
The senior students read the Shakespeare play to each other.
Student Megan Mueller said the students felt safe. They were in a cluster of buildings, damping the wind, and high up in the building.
They're not expected to return until Saturday.
