Pianst Taylor Eigsti and vocalist Becca Stevens live today on KPLU
Two, young and talented musicians: pianist Taylor Eigsti and vocalist Becca Stevens, will be in the KPLU studios for a live interview and performance today at 12:15 p.m.
Stevens will join the Taylor Eigsti Quartet later tonight at Dimitriou's Jazz Alley for a 7:30 p.m. performance.
More info:
Taylor Eigsti began playing the piano when he was 4-years old. He started his own band at age 12, was quickly labeled a prodigy, and released four albums. His CD Lucky to Be Me was nominated for two Grammy awards. He has an original sound and takes a contemporary and improvisational approach to jazz.
Becca Stevens began singing in her family’s band, the Tune Mammals, when she was two years old. Besides singing, she also became fluent in jazz and classical guitar, and in the folk music traditions of her native North Carolina. She sings on five songs on Eigsti's 2010 album Daylight At Midnight. She has a beautiful, ethereal voice.
