Software glitch causes problems in WSU first week

PULLMAN, Wash. — A glitch in a new, multimillion-dollar software system is disrupting the first week of classes at Washington State University for students and parents who depend on financial aid.

University officials tell The Spokesman-Review the software problem is causing delays in transfers of financial aid dollars into student accounts. The $15 million software system is expected to streamline operations, from applying for admission to registering for classes.

School officials say more than half the financial aid dollars have been disbursed and they hope to resolve all the problems with the new system by the end of this week or early next week.
