The top five Studio Sessions from the past year

Roy Hargrove's "Soulful" video, which has gotten more than 30,000 views, helped land him the #1 spot on our list.

Esperanza Spalding decided to give her band the afternoon off and showed up at the studio all by herself, with just her bass…and her voice. As you’ll hear, that was more than enough to secure the #2 spot on our Best of 2010 list.

Grammy Award-winning "Soul Queen of New Orleans," Irma Thomas easily secured a spot on our list with an powerful vocal performance.

This has been an amazing year for KPLU's Studio Sessions. We have had the honor of hosting live in-studio performances from jazz icons Doctor John and The Manhattan Transfer, to rising stars such as Esperanza Spalding and Nikki Yanofsky.

Though it was difficult to narrow these down to a top-five list, here is what I compiled based on attendee & listener response as well as video views and audio plays from across the Web.
