Presidential debate spins 'Binders Full of Women' meme, fact checks

Answering a question about pay equity for women during last night's presidential debate, Gov. Mitt Romney said something that has become the talk of the Web.

He said that when he became governor, few women applied for cabinet jobs.

Darcy Burner running for Congress again, wants to replace Inslee

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Democratic activist Darcy Burner is making another run for Congress.

Burner said Wednesday that she wants to stand up for working people. She took a line from the Occupy Wall Street protests to say that the Congress needs people who will fight for "the 99 percent."

Cantwell's first GOP challenger steps up in Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. - A Washington state senator from Spokane plans to take on U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell. Michael Baumgartner made his announcement Monday. He's the first Republican to launch a 2012 challenge against the Democratic senator from Washington. Correspondent Jessica Robinson reports.

Baumgartner, at age 35, is fairly new to politics. His resume includes work in Iraq and Afghanistan as an economic consultant. In 2010 he ran for state senate and beat the Democratic incumbent in a race that went down as the most expensive in Washington senate history.
